About

Hi there, I’m Josh Stone, a Games Development student based in Lancashire.

I have a desire to deliver results, a passion for leading and a love of all things tech.

I have experience using a variety of programming languages including: C#, C++, HTML, Swift/XCode, DirectX, HLSL, XML & PHP and Game Engines such as Unity and Phaser.

Some of my key attributes:

Leadership: Being a leader is something I have always enjoyed. Whether it has been leading sports teams, holding together tired and wavering Duke of Edinburgh teams or group work throughout school and university, the feeling of others depending on my leadership helps bring out the best in me.

Teamwork: Even though I enjoy leading, this doesn't mean I cannot take instruction nor do I dislike it when I have to act as a team worker rather than the leader. Not having to manage others allows me to focus more on my own individual work and also allows me to experience how others lead and incorporate aspects of their leadership styles into that of my own. Working together in a team and pooling individuals skills, creativity and knowledge to create something amazing is truly rewarding.

Confidence: Being confident in not only your work but also whilst explaining yourself or making a first impression is key. Having two jobs that revolved around customer interaction have allowed me to increase my confidence levels. Leading teams during project work and playing competitive sport has resulted in me becoming confident in myself and being able to identify my strengths but also know when to ask for help to assess my weaknesses.

Integrity: Throughout my academic and professional life thus far I have learnt that being straightforward and honest in my approach to any eventuality results in the highest ethical outcome achievable. This, paired with the understanding for a certain level of competence, makes me strive to perform to the best of my capabilities.
